Colors & Shape

The wearable comes in Polished Silver with a Bay band, Polished Silver with a Porcelain band, Matte Black with an Obsidian band, and Champagne Gold with Hazel band combinations.

It’s made from 100% recycled aluminum, so it’s a positive news for the environment. As usual, it should be no issue to wear the Fluoroelastomer Active Band for a long time. This synthetic rubber material is known for its durability too.

If you expect a bigger watch than the Google Pixel Watch, the predecessor, you might be disappointed. Google has maintained the same dimensions for the Google Pixel Watch 2 as its predecessor. However, if you are like me whose hand fits just fine with the 41mm dial, then the smartwatch is for you! Another thing about the body! Google Pixel Watch 2 becomes lighter since it weighs 5 grams less than its predecessor.

Display

When it comes to the display, the Pixel Watch 2 has 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which protects the sharp 320 ppi AMOLED screen.

The brightness adjustability of the watch is just solid. And, it is one of many unspoken features that your smartwatch must have since we have to check the screen repetitively, perhaps more than the phone! The colors on the screen are bright and just right, even if you’re outside in the sun. The screen can get super bright, up to 1,000 nits! And there’s a cool feature that keeps the time showing all the time without using a lot of battery.

Platform

The previous version’s chipset was the Exynos 9110, whereas the Google Pixel Watch 2 uses the Qualcomm 5100 while running on Wear OS 4.0. It is expected to perform better with this chipset and OS.

Battery

Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. The battery performance! It is one of the most practical aspects of any smartwatch. The Pixel Watch 2 has a rechargeable battery that comes with 306 mAh and USB-C® Fast Charging Cable. It can last a good 24 hours, even with the Always-on display. Charging is quick and easy with the USB-C Fast Charging Cable. It is said that in just 30 minutes, you get 50%, 43 minutes for 80%, and a full charge in only 75 minutes.

Enhanced Features

The Google Pixel Watch 2 is creating a buzz for introducing some of the coolest health and safety features. When it comes to fitness, the Google Pixel Watch 2 tries to change the game! It has an enhanced heart rate sensor which is up to 40% accurate for Intense exercises such as high-intensity interval training (HIIT), spinning, and rowing.

It can even detect your signs of stress. Fitbit’s Body Response Feature, powered by the cEDA sensor and smart learning, will monitor the heart rate and skin temperature. Then, it will detect if there are any signs of stress. It is pretty cool, right? Another cool feature is that it tracks skin temperature during sleep for accurate sleep details. To make it more interesting they bring features like Heart Rate Zone Coaching and Pace Training.

Medical ID stores your health information, Emergency Sharing notifies contacts in times of need, and Safety Check alerts them if you forget to check-in. With the LTE-enabled Pixel Watch 2, Safety Signal allows you to access emergency features without a phone, ensuring your safety wherever you go.

The Pixel Watch 2 smoothly works with the redesigned Fitbit app. When you sync with Fitbit, you can get a detailed overview of your fitness journey. It also covers things like activity, sleep, and heart rate.

This integration makes it easy to track your progress and make informed decisions about your well-being. Another nice collaboration is that Pixel Watch 2 users get six months of Fitbit Premium for extra features and insights to support health goals.

The Automatic Call Screener for Dialer is also useful, as it manages incoming calls automatically to reduce disruptions and help you manage your time better. You can easily switch audio between Pixel devices and use the Find My Phone feature to locate your paired Pixel device if it’s lost.

This connection with Pixel devices demonstrates a commitment to creating a unified and user-friendly experience within the Google ecosystem. When you connect the Pixel Watch 2 with other Pixel devices, it creates a seamless and connected digital environment, making your daily interactions with technology more efficient and convenient.

Cost

The price of the Google Pixel Watch 2 starts from around $349.99. The Pixel Watch 2 with Wi-Fi is priced at $349, and if you opt for the LTE version, it’ll be $399.

The best substitute Apple Watch Series 9 starts at $399 whereas the Garmin Venu 3 comes at $449.99. However, you can get the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 at $299.99.

In India, the price of Google Pixel Watch 2 will be Rs. 39,900. It will cost you around BDT 42,000 to buy Google Pixel Watch 2 in Bangladesh.

Final Words

The first Google Pixel Watch had some issues with the battery life. However, Google fixes it in their latest one. The Google Pixel Watch too has much improved battery life! The system is running smoothly too as usual like the predecessor one. Speaking of smooth performance, upgrading the chip for the latest watch is notable.

The most amazing thing about the Google Pixel Watch is its sensors. As discussed, it is indeed a nice touch by Google to give a sensor that can notice real-time stress levels.
